National Book Critics Circle Award Finalists.

Happy to see my former poetry professor Denise Duhamel be named one of the finalists for this year’s National Book Critics Circle AwardI took Denise’s Poetic Techniques course as an undergrad at Florida International University a few years back. She’s a wonderful professor and a great poet. Big congrats!

Boston University’s MFA blog shared the news about some of my upcoming publications. BU’s program was instrumental in helping me craft my story collection and getting me started on my novel. For that, and for making me a better writer, I will be forever grateful.

Another Upcoming Publication

I’ve just found out today that my short story “The Comforter,” which is based on tragic events that took place at a psychiatric hospital in Havana a few years ago, has been accepted for publication by the Southern Humanities Review! I’m excited to see this particular story in such a great journal.

Upcoming Publications.

I found out this week that I’ll have two of my stories published in upcoming issues of the Florida Review and Prairie Schooner! Both stories are part of my collection, which I recently completed. I’m thrilled and can’t wait to see these pieces in print in two of my favorite publications.

Flash Fiction Piece in Baltimore Review’s Summer Issue.

My short fiction piece “Beets” has been published in the latest issue of the Baltimore Review!  The publication includes a short note at the conclusion of the story. 

New story in Necessary Fiction.

My short fiction piece “Sweet Saltwater” has been published in Necessary Fiction! This story is part of my collection, A Kind of Solitude.
